The ABCs of Dinkology by AE Stueve
“AE Stueve’s novel, The ABCs of Dinkology, isn’t a novel at all. It is a tour de force of creativity: a combination of comic book, character biographies, scholarly footnotes collection, sound track extraordinaire and laugh-out-loud-sit-down-and-crydamn good story. Combining his writing talents with Chris Smith s considerable artistic talents is sure to produce a classic. Save your first edition copy, it is bound to be a collectible.”
—Karen Gettert Shoemaker, author of Night Sounds and Other Stories
“With his debut, AE Stueve reinvents the novel and re-imagines the comic book in a mashup of David Foster Wallace s post-modernism and Stan Lee s hyper-real kerrang to create a coming-of-age story that is fresh, original, and surprisingly heartwarming.”
—Mark Haskell Smith, author of Moist, Delicious, Salty, and Baked
AE Stueve was born in Illinois and grew up in Iowa on a steady diet of comic books, video games, and oddly enough, classic literature. His published work runs the gamut from comics book scripts for Bluewater Productions The Legend of Isis, to journalism, including reviews and articles for the webzine Broken Frontier, and short stories and poetry in eclectic online journals such as Because We Write and The Green Silk Journal. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Nebraska and can be found all over the web. Currently, he teaches high school Creative Writing and filmmaking and lives in Omaha, Nebraska with his wife, two children, two dogs, and cat.
Chris Smith arts under the heavy influence of Dr. Pepper and audiobooks. Most of the time, he has upwards of three cats on his lap and/or shoulders as he sketches/inks/paints/whatevers his latest creation. Other times, he works in casino coffee shops. He considers himself more of a writer than an artist, with his fiction appearing online and in print at various venues, including Pear Noir! and Pindeldyboz. Until recently, his whole life had been spent in the Midwest. Now, he lives with his wife and cats, watches too many movies, plays too many video games, and occasionally teaches in Las Vegas, NV.
The ABCs of Dinkology is the sixth book in the Kloefkorn Series published by the WSC Press.
