The Flat Water Stirs: DEADLINE EXTENDED! Now Feb. 14th 2017

DEADLINE EXTENDED! — FEB. 14th 2017

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of our state, The Flat Water Stirs: An Anthology of Emerging Nebraska Poets is seeking poetry submissions authored by emerging writers from or currently residing in Nebraska.

The author does not need to currently live in Nebraska, and the poetry does not need to be about the state. We define “emerging” as an author who has never published their own book before, chapbooks excluded.

Authors should send submissions in word doc or docx format and include a short, 80 word bio which includes how they are connected to Nebraska.

There are no submission or reading fees. Winning authors will receive a contributor’s copy of the final book as payment. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, just be sure to withdraw your submission as soon as you know it’s been accepted elsewhere. No previously published work will be considered. Each author may submit 1-3 poems.
